About SRI HANUMAN Temple

Fort Hanuman temple is one of the oldest and reknown temples in Palakkad District of Kerala. Palakkad Fort Sri Hanuman Swamy had been worshipped by Devotees since historical period onwards. Devotees approached the temple for the fulfilment of their intended needs, relief from grief and for prosperity and upliftment of their families. The important offerings to the temple are Vadamala, Vettilamala and Neyvilakku( Ghee Lamp)

Festivals are part of our culture and are celebrated with pomp and show. The important festivals of the temple are Sree Rama Navami, Ramayana Masam and the Navarathri Pooja. Many cutural programs like Music, Dance, Tholpavakoothu, Chakuarkoothu, Ottamthullal, Bhakthi prabhashanam…etc are being conducted in association with these festivals.

Ramayana Masam is observed as sacred month by Keralites which falls in the month of Karkidaka( July- August). Thousands of Devotees of Sri Hanuman Swamy are provided with Kanji( Rice gruel) and Puzhukku( Vegetable dish) at the temple office complex named Kadhaleevanam, located at West Fort Road, near Rappadi Open Air Auditorium.

Thursdays and Saturdays are auspicious for Lord Anjaneya. A Prasada oottu( Annadanam) is served to hundreds of devotees at Kadhaleevanam from 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm on every Thursday and Saturday.
