Palakkad had a tropical wet and dry climate temperature remain moderate throughout the year with exceptions being March and April. March is an average of 9.84 hours of sunshine a day and this makes city too heat.
This hot climatic condition has brought in to an idea of distributing Buttermilk to travelers as well as devotees in and around the city.
The Anjaneya Seva Samithi pioneered this thought of free distribution of buttermilk is all through the summer season.
This project was found to be a success and could quench thousands of travelers arriving at Palakkad. This project has been extended to all nearby area in and around Palakkad.
